Se7en Months

Leaps. And. Bounds this month. Leaps and bounds.

Lydia went from a milk-fed, floor-laying, one-way roller to a mush-eating, rolling pin of a self-sitter. Technical terms.

No weight/length stats this months… but I’ll just leave this right here for you…

the hess station 7 month baby update Safe to say we’re all noticing indicators of healthy eating and substantial weight gain, yes?… We will stick with health. Very healthy baby. Heeeeealthy and thriving.

Tooth count: 2 adorable little white chompers that mean business. Do not underestimate these things. They will shred you. Keep your hands greater than a biteable distance from her mouth or expect an unpleasant surprise.

Clothes size: 12-18 months. Can we process the inaccuracy of baby clothes sizing. I mean I know she’s on the larger side but… Why couldn’t they just start at size 0 and go from there?! It’s really bizarre to tell people my 7 month old is the size of an actual toddler.

Skills:

Rolling everywhere. Obstacles are no match unless they are tables. And if there is one within a mile radius she will find it and roll to it and make sure to scream when she can roll no farther.

Eating like a champion. Favorites so far are sweet potatoes and pears. Least favorite is peas. She apparently got my taste buds (see: distaste for peas) and voracious appetite. She gobbles up everything made available to her. Even those dumb peas because girls gotta eat. She’s polite about it, though. Just a startled grimace with the first bite and then she settles in like ‘Okay. I can get on board. No it’s fine, I love peas kinda…’

Sitting up straighter than most humans. Keep up the good posture kid.

Finally using a binky. I do realize that most people try to break their little ones of binky usage but man oh man are those little plugs awesome when you just want like a hot second of shhhhhhhh. Shhhh shhhh shhhhh. Okayyyyyy baby. OMG quiet.

Sleeping for decent chunks. 5-6 hours and then after that it’s a crapshoot for how long she’ll stay down at a time but our sanity is kept intact by that first big chunk. Complain I will absolutely not. However, of note, I received a tip sheet in coping with daylight savings from my little mommy and me group leader. I could cry imagining a repeat of this. Fortunately, since this post is so late in the posting, we have made it through relatively unscathed this time around.

She’s become a much better napper as of late. I’ll toot my own horn here because I’m putting in like 60% effort, compared to the previous months 0% effort, to put her down in her crib for legit naps. Time frames are fluid but at least she is taking (kinda) consistent late morning and late afternoon naps these days.

And the pictures that I blame for the delay in posting. Taking and subsequently editing these is just so tedious no matter how little time and effort I put into it (0%).
