Baby Downpours

Shower (n) [shou-er]: a brief fall of rain

Downpour (n) [doun-pawr]: a heavy drenching rain

I’m pretty positive the Baby Hess celebrations of the past few weeks qualify as downpours.  Showers shmowers. Both were heavy (physically – not that I lifted a finger) and drenched in thoughtfulness, creativity, personal touches and a whole lotta love for this melon-baby. Our house is flooded and so are our hearts. (I promise I’m done with the water puns). It’s pretty overwhelming how amazing our friends and family truly are and how fortunate our little one is to be born into our small little world filled with such big hearted people.

Downpour número uno: RI – River Falls Restaurant

My wonderful mama took on the adventure theme full force and in her own over-the-top way made sure everything about the day was filled with maps and binoculars and hot air balloons galore, my ever-favorite burlap and all the colors I’ve chosen to go into the nursery! The treats were amazing, the details impeccable, and River Falls provided a wonderful backdrop and an amazing meal per usual!

Número dos: Western MA – Villa Napoletana

My mama-in-law fully embraced everything me (burlap, mason jars, baby’s breath, go…) and somehow combined it all perfectly with gender neutral baby and cute. She even handmade and painted chocolates and lollipops and dipped pretzel rods and so much more! Not a single detail was missed. And who knew Villa had such an amazing Sunday brunch?! It was such a beautiful, perfect morning.

We are so appreciative of everyone who came to share their support and well wishes with our growing little family and loved on my growing not-so-little bump. We are the luckiest to have you in our lives. And most of all we are grateful to these gorgeous and immensely devoted women for making all of our Baby Hess dreams come true. You two are the most phenomenal party planners! And I can only imagine the amazing adventures that lie ahead once this little one turns you into grandmas (again, where applicable).

Emby & Mommy & Gigi

I have spent most of my waking hours this week sifting through and sorting our new supplies, gear and treasures. Needless to say, nesting is in full force and I’d prefer it if I could do nothing but sit and sort and decorate in the nursery for the next month waiting patiently. The Hess nursery is currently a blank (but painted!) slate but it’s all set to be filled with everything this baby could possibly need (read: everything we received)… But more on the nursery soon…when I get around to completing it! The project deadline is fast approaching.

4.5ish weeks. Eeks! Excited eeks!
